Proof of Concept-Projekte der 5. Ausschreibung
In December 2017, 34 young researchers submitted their projects for the fifth BRIDGE Proof of Concept call.
14 thereof were invited to present their project in front of the Proof of Concept evaluation panel. Based on the evaluation of the written projects and of the interview, 8 innovative projects will receive up to 130’000 CHF to implement their project.
The project domains range from management to life science, including civil engineering.
Among the funded applicants, Yurena Seguí Femenias, from ETH Zurich, develops a sensor system for the early detection of steel corrosion. Her solution allows the monitoring of parameters relevant for corrosion, namely the chloride concentration and the pH, in order to test the structural health of e.g. bridges or pipelines. Learn more about her project in this video.
In the project VascuSAFE, Guillaume Petit-Pierre, from EPFL, develops a catheter system with the goal to provide a novel treatment to reduce the high mortality and morbidity of haemorrhagic stroke patients.
The list of funded projects is visible on the BRIDGE website.
